Here are some links you may find useful. As well as the units they also mention the types of aeroplanes used.
For the accredited RAF fighter squadrons which took part in the Battle;

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Re: Historical References
Hello All,
Before I seal up the cockpit on my Ju87, can I just check, what colour should the 'lattice-work' rear gunners seat be?
The instructions just say RLM02 but I thought that I would check first.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Historical References
02 will be fine. Depending on which factory built the Ju87 the insides could be RLM02 or RLM66

Re: Historical References
Thanks Fred,
RLM02 it is then. Now that I have a bit more internet access, it seems to have been more of a metal tube affair rather than a lattice of straps. Either way, not sure I'd like to be in one when the aircraft went into a steep dive!
Regards,
Steve

Re: Historical References
Has anybody got a good pic of either Spitfire PR-J R6691 or PR-L P9322 of 609 Squadron? I have a few that I am pretty sure are of PR-L and it looks to me like it's got the B camo pattern (which is unusual on an even numbered Spitfire. PR-J, I don't have any pics that show the camo but it should have the B pattern.
I have found this site which has profiles for them but I'd be happier with more pics. http://www.markstyling.com/spitfiresmkl_ll_9.htm. Especially as this site shows PR-L in the A scheme which is what I expected until I saw these pics (although possibly tthe second pic is PR-I if that existed)
http://www.drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/pub ... /-055.html
http://www.drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/pub ... /-110.html].
I'd just like some reassurance before I paint the camo. I can make codes for either of these two from the decals I have.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks
David

Re: Historical References
Or I could do PR-G but does anybody know its serial? I can't see any serial in this small pic.

Re: Historical References
I think I have it now! Isn't the internet wonderful (if what you read there can be relied upon).
According to this site http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthre ... post224114, Crooks' log book says PR-L was R6699. If that's so, it would have probably had the B type camo pattern I am seeing in the pics.
I think I'll go with that unless I see evidence to the contrary before I spray the green on!
