Martin's Messerschmitt Mayhem
Re: Martin's Messerschmitt Mayhem
Thanks, Daz.
No pics, but more progress tonight. Prop / spinner assembly is finished, as is the RLM02 on the uppersides. Dunkelgrun tomorrow.

Now with added picture. Obviously more coats of dark green required:
Re: Martin's Messerschmitt Mayhem
That's looking really smart now Martin, and it looks from the picture as if there isn't any mottling to bother with?

The top view shows what looks like mottle on the fuse sides, but the side views don't show it. I know that as the battle progressed a number of units did add mottling as they felt the light side camo was disadvantageous, but whether Herr Wick's machine did this, or whether it did at some point and didn't at another, I don't know. For simplicity's sake, I think I'll do without it this time.

And that's where I got to this evening. Masking removed, any greeblies sorted, gear legs added, and prop / rudder dry-fitted for effect.

Re: Martin's Messerschmitt Mayhem
Looking very nice. Excellent job with the splinter.
Re: Martin's Messerschmitt Mayhem
I rubbed down the surfaces tonight with well-worn 1500 grit. This knocked off the high spots and the ridge lines caused by the masking. I then did some minor touching up and put on a few coats of Klear gloss. Once dry, it'll be on to decalling which, when finished, should be worthy of a pic.

Martin,
That looks really smart now. Is the rather ill-fitting air intake also two tone?

Steve

I reckon so, Steve, although the destructions don't agree. I have never been an absolute slave to the destructions, however . . .SteveC wrote:Martin,

Re: Martin's Messerschmitt Mayhem
Beautiful work! I know what you mean about the stencil decals. After a solid evening of decaling, I realized I was barely to the halfway mark. Yours is looking great.
