Scooshed, is that a technical term?

It's one of those multipurpose Glasgow words meaning in verb form -'To squirt or spray'
and in noun form -'Something easy, trivial or requiring little effort'

eg. "Ah jist gie'd the unnerside a wee scoosh o' gloss white, it wis a scoosh case"

In lesson 2 we will look at 'Scud', 'Scunner' and 'Skelp' :-D

...forgot to add. In the '60s the Glasgow Fire Service were at the forefront of firefighting innovation, having developed an appliance with an elbow boom with a hose, infra red camera and sensor on the end with a bayonet-like window breaking tool. Based on 2 types of Dennis and 1 Dodge chassis, they were officially named the Mk.1, Mk.2 and Mk.2a Scoosher

PT,

Love it! :-D :-D :-D .

I use "scoosh" deliberately to get this sort or reaction. Although I have lived happily in England for many years, I do like to remind myself of some words I used to enjoy from my youth.

And as for your Lesson 2, I will broaden it to consider the following sentence:

I telt the weans tae wheesht but they didnae, so ah gave them a skelp and they had a guid greet!

Happy days!

regards,

Martin

So, here's where I got to before going away for a few days. Joints look OK, as does rescribing. Next is yellow on nose, rudder and spinner:

I'm so glad everyone was all over this term. I was going to embarrass myself by suggesting a scoosh was an archaic unit of measure!

PT,

I am not a Glaswegian native, but I did live in your fair city for 4 years while I was at Uni. First two years at Woolfson Hall on Maryhill Road! Next two years in Hillhead. A fantastic part of the world.
