The rear beaching gear strut and rudder have been added now but I will not add the front pieces until the painting has been done.

The engine and cowling are here. The engine consists of a backing plate with a row of cylinders (crudely represented) But when pained and put in place really doesn't look that bad to me.

Time to sort out some paint. The tri-color scheme will be used. The pattern seems complicated so I will have to study it and sort out masking.

I read this about the SC-1. Some had a bunk bed placed in the rear fuselage for rescue work. They were used as forward air controllers to guide naval bombardment on beach fronts. They were also used in ASW duty. Supplied in the kit are two bombs (250's I think) and ASW gear.

This is shaping up nicely. I think you will be OK with the engine once the prop and spinner are in place.

That looks superb. We have SMER kits in at work, I'll pick an SC-1 up if we have any in.

All the best.

Still in this build gents. I floated it over to the paint hanger and should have an update soon. It's not to bad of a kit Greg just finicky. Same class as a limited run kit.

Out of the paint shop now and in the next couple of days should have this one sewed up.

Devil of a time mounting the canopy. The piece was thick and flat edges to mount on a rounded fuselage. I wrapped a dowel with sanding film and worked the piece back and forth until I could get a fit.

Onward and upward.

Everything is glossed up and after some drying time the decaling will begin.

Well I am calling this one done. It was a real test but in the end it came out acceptable.
