Re: Kit does Madge
I wish they, or somebody, would do the Be-12 in an affordable price.
I may break down and get the Modlesvit version but $65 US to get it shipped here from the Ukraine is a bit much.
Need to see the kit parts and maybe a build to see if in my skillset.
Looking forward to your Madge.

Re: Kit does Madge
I was very happy when I heard Modelsvit were doing the Be-12, even if it is a bit pricey. The only other options I know of in 1/72 are the Sanger vacform and the RVHP resin kits. The Sanger is cheaper but beyond my skillset and the RVHP kit is very expensive, as you would expect from a large resin kit.
Anyway, Be-6 sprue shots
Includes a nice full interior which, given the size of the windows, seems a total waste

Re: Kit does Madge
Yep, here I am complaining about the price of the Be-12 and then I saw the price of the Madge. Did you get a good deal someplace?

Re: Kit does Madge
Interior done and ready to install. Lots of wasted parts and time here as most of it will be invisible
Think you would have to be built like Jack Skellington to reach the controls from those seats, but as it will hardly be visible I'm leaving as is

But we all know it's there and appreciate the effort.
Now I see why the face of your cutting mat is so clean looking I should remember that, especially when I know I'm about to spill stuff all over it ...

Great work on the interior.
It does raise the question, why do companies add all the detail that you can't see?

Re: Kit does Madge
very true, think the Trumpeter Condor is one of the worst offenders, along with a couple of the larger 1/72 revel releases of the last few years. Bv.222 comes to mind

Re: Kit does Madge
Main fuselage together. The tolerances with that large interior insert are a bit tight so ended up using a bit of filler for some gaps. Not sure if that was me or the kit. Work started on the sub-assemblies too
Control surfaces are moulded separately but are designed for the neutral position. Means Madge can't let her flaps down

Re: Kit does Madge
This is probably the weakest part of the kit. The Be-6 was basically powered by a pair of inverted B-29 engines. As you can see Trumpeter have made no attempt at representing the engine faces and there is no depth to the supercharger(?) intakes. Debating whether or not to try fitting some old Airfix B-29 engines in there.
