Toby's nice Beaver. FINISHED
Not sure if that sounds right or not
This is the Hobbycraft 1/72 float version of the DHC-2 Beaver.
Interesting that the fuselage is transparent and all glass is part of that. I'll be doing it in US Army markings.

Fnarr fnarr!
I can't recall ever coming across a clear fuselage before. Is it as solid as thick transparent parts usually are?

More or less. It'll be like looking out through those coke bottle glasses the NHS gave out in the 50sArcwelder wrote:Fnarr fnarr!

Hey Toby: Just to advise that behind the rear door is a circular window on each side. Easy to mask off when you get there. Let me dig up a photo for you.

Hope the fit is good, because that'll be "fun" to sand if not!TobyC wrote:More or less. It'll be like looking out through those coke bottle glasses the NHS gave out in the 50sArcwelder wrote:Fnarr fnarr!

Re: Toby's nice Beaver
A slight change in plans. Looking at the Hobbycraft kit the windows being part of the clear fuselage are almost smooth and masking them would be beyond my skills tbh.
So I'm not going ahead with it however from my stash I saw winking at me another Beaver this time the Airfix version so I'll be doing that one instead. I'll keep the Hobbycraft decals for this and may use some parts from that kit if I can.

Thanks Jeff. I'm sure I'll be referring to that during the build.

Fuselage halves closed although there's a slight gap at the tail I'm going to wait until the front is nice and solid before joining it up.

Its coming on well. I personally think you made the right decision to go with the Airfix kit, I think it is as superior product.
