What Is The Last Movie/Show You Saw?

Back to the Future Part 2
Great fun. The third one is on next week, so guess what I'll be watching!
The Shawshank Redemption
Quite rightly regarded as one of the greatest films ever made.

Saw Lucy the other day. Was an interesting film but not what I was expecting. Still, worth seeing.

King Kong
Peter Jackson's big budget remake gets more confusing to me whenever I watch it. While I do enjoy the ape vs dinosaur smackdowns, it's too long, with too many distractions and an unconvincing romantic interest. There's also some confusion as to whether or not some of the characters are aware that Skull Island exists or not. Clearly the film was a good idea at the time, but there's too much faff in it to hold my interest these days. Give me the RKO original!
Hot Fuzz
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost take on the buddy cop movie genre in this hilarious send-up. Great fun, no matter how many times I've seen it!

Von Richthofen and Brown
Roger Corman's take on the Richthofen legend, with dubious historical accuracy (SE5as instead of Camels!) and some dodgy acting.
Actually, it's not as bad as it sounds. Great flying sequences throughout!

Clerks
Kevin Smith's low-budget debut - still hilarious after the umpteenth viewing!
Clerks 2
Kevin Smith's follow-up takes place 10 years after the original. I think this one's even better!

Burning Bright
A young woman is trapped in her mother's old home with her autistic brother, while outside a hurricane rages.
Meanwhile, someone has released a man-eating tiger into the house.
Not as bad as it sounds, actually!

Re: What Is The Last Movie/Show You Saw?
I've just watch 'The Iron Lady', which is the story of Margaret Thatcher, Britain's only female Prime Minister.
Now I don't want to talk about her politics, this forum is not the place for that, and I am not going to show any political leanings, but obviously I will have to touch on it due to the nature of the film.
First of all, the good part. Brilliant acting by absolutely everyone in the cast, Meryl Streep is superb in the leading role, Jim Broadbent arguably even better as her affable husband Dennis. Olivia Colman (with a false nose!) as the daughter Carol is perfect (even nailing the slight speech impediment) and Anthony Head is perfect as Geoffrey Howe.
But the film itself slightly disappoints. This is mainly because the majority of the film concentrates on us watching a very elderly Margaret, suffering from debilitating mental illness (dementia or similar) wandering around her house a virtual prisoner, constantly hallucinating (seeing and talking to) her long since dead husband. Very tragic to watch whether you liked her or not.
Her political career is dealt with via brief flashbacks stimulated by her meanderings, and frankly the political milestones were dealt with far too briefly. The Falklands war only warrants about 10 minutes, the Miner's strike is dealt with in about 2 minutes (it went on for 364 days!!!), poll tax riots, another brief few minutes. The IRA bomb in the London hotel is brilliant filmed but the background to it and the aftermath hardly warrant a mention.
Those that may have suffered during her term (such as the decline in blue collar and manufacturing industry in the midlands and north) is not mentioned at all, and those that profited during the same time (like the Yuppies and City Bankers in London) only get a few seconds of screen time.
I would have preferred to see less of her as an elderly woman suffering dementia and more of her politics and how it impacted the people of Britain, good and bad.
You get the impression that the film makers were too nervous to make something too political.
A friend at work asked me to sum it up, and the best I could say was, in essence, it's a love story, it concentrates far more on her love of Dennis and his loyalty to her, rather than her politics.
Anyone else seen it? Views anyone?
