Sad about that, just seen it on the news. Didn't know him obviously, but he seemed someone worth listening to, if only for that voice!.
EDIT: After a quick look I've found he was at one time, with 92 Squadron on Spitfires. As 92 is my 'favourite' Squadron I think a build of a Spit might be in order. Would also tie into the RAF GB too. I also think I've got his book somewhere upstairs so a read also on the cards. Or pages.

Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

I've seen one or two documentary programmes on TV of late in which Geoff featured and he came across as quite a character. A sad loss indeed. We owe him and his colleagues much more than we can ever repay. RIP.

I've only read about a third of his book but it's engrossing. Very determined to fly, seems as though he was far from the best (especially when it came to hitting the books, and he could do some flying manoeuvre's if he was pushed to it by the instructors), but he got there in the end.

He was a very active scale modeller, and had a particular interest in sailing ships and wooden framed kits. He was still modelling up until quite recently I was told.
Trying to Build kits and not Buy kits

My 1/48th Revell Spitfire has arrived for my Wellum build. It's a Mk.II but I think I can get away with that. Need to source some 48th scale 92 squadron decals (QJ). Reading his book, the second Spit he was using had the letter 'G' after the QJ/roundel. As the CO said 'G for Geoffrey, sounds right'.
