Saddened to hear of the passing of Mary Ellis, last of the wartime Air Transport Auxiliary pilots. Saw her on several tv programmes and she always reminisced about the Spitfire like a true aviator.

Sad to hear.
These ladies were all heros. They may have flown the most up to date types but unarmed in wartime skies and no training that could have allowed them to evade attack.

Reporting in the Press isn't what it used to be.....I saw one recently that had the Dunkirk evacuation in 1941!

She had a good go at being the last at 101. Unless they got that wrong too!!.
