Giant Robots in Ottawa

Post by AndrewR »

At the end of July, there's going to be a weekend-long display in the centre of Ottawa featuring two giant robots - a spider and a dragon. At the moment, they are being tested out at the Aviation and Space Museum, a few minutes from our house, so this morning, Graham and I went out there to have a look.

The spider was in the main museum area, but we got a look over the fence.

The dragon was being tested out by the storage hanger.

The dragon blows smoke out of its nostrils, and has red glowing eyes, so the displays should be pretty impressive!

Very spectacular indeed, especially with the smoke from the dragon's nose!

They really look impressive. I admire the people who obviously put lot of work in to those.

It's part of the 150th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation.

A nice bit of large scale scratchbuilding on these robots.

Very impressive work indeed, thanks for sharing Andrew. That's a pretty cool museum to have near your house.
