If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Really rather good - spectacular setpieces for a film of its age, including a Spitfire strafing attack and a couple of very realistic bombing raids.
A classic, IMO, Burt Lancaster (Paul Labiche) and Michel Simon (Papa Boule) were great.
I confess to not having even noticed the airplanes.

I've not seen that - sounds good though.

Dunkirk...

Wow...

...without doubt the worst film I've seen all year (and I've seen 50+) - what a steaming pile of horse manure - total pants! I'm 45minutes in and I'm STILL waiting for something, ANYTHING to happen - I don't even know the main characters names - the bloke on the front cover has hardly said anything yet!!!!!

...what a load of complete overly artistic crap!

Not a patch on the John Mills film.

(don't even get me started on the use of the words 'the enemy...')

Really?!

You must see something in it that I've missed Daz - I find it totally un-engaging, and I very much doubt I'll bother watching the last hour, even though I've paid for it.

Walk the Line last night...I have faint memories of The Johnny Cash Show on TV when I was littler and this was totally true to those memories...

RE Longmire, finished the series, enjoyed it although the last couple of seasons were starting to feel like the trail of misfortune for the key players would never end; there was also one point where it looked like Katee Sackoff was about to reprise her Starbuck angel role: fortunately the writers resisted the temptation...the series ending is good and wraps up all the loose ends...bar one... :-D

As I am off for the rest of the year, I binge-watched Game of Thrones - Season 7 (I am saddened by the abbreviated season). Awesome.

Not so awesome was "The Last Jedi" which my wife and I saw today. Tedious and certainly not as entertaining as "The Force Awakens."

I've heard a few people say that, but I think the lack of character depth is kind of the point - if you're fighting to survive, do you have the time to chat and get to know someone?

The disjointed timeline in the film takes a bit of getting used to, but if you stick with it, you kind of realise that the seemingly random shots of boats or planes all tie in together somehow.

The Last Jedi
Fantastic. Loved every minute.
Going to break out an AT-AT to build as soon as Christmas is over.
Best wishes

Another Mothers Son - which I thought was a very poignant but well presented portrayal of a true series of events in WW2 in the Channel Islands.

I will be watching Dunkirk next month myself, so will see how it fares against all the views for and against it that I have read, on here and numerous other places about it.

Over the last two weeks I watched all four seasons of Line of Duty - Brilliant show. I had heard good things about it and I wasn't disappointed.
Also, although it's set in England, much of it is filmed in Belfast, so it was a case of "Spot where they are now!"

I think they had two types of AT-AT in the film, standard ones and those massive ones with the beefed up front legs and chin plates. I want one of those!!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!
