Whatiff Taifun **Finished**

This is a GB for Heller kits and derivatives thereof - any kit, any scale, any variant, any markings. However, not everyone is allowed to build HMS Victory, so get your bids in early. Runs 12 September through 11 October and your host is TobyC.

Whatiff Taifun **Finished**

Post by VickersVandal »

Just to be different, I'm building a Bf108

This is a whatiff depicting the monoplane used by the villain Erich von Stalhein in Biggles & Co - set in the late 1930s. The book doesn't specify what the aircraft is, but this seemed the most likely candidate.
It will be an all over dark green.

I picked the kit up at the local model club. Original box must have packed up because someone cut the panels out and glued them onto another and carefully clingwrapped the parts.

At least they made an effort to box and protect the kit, often I get second-hand kits in nothing more than an ill fitting unsealed plastic bag.
Any markings for this or is it just plain green overall?
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

From memory the book refers to it having no identifying marks, but I'll need to double check that.

I made a start:

I do love this little kit. I really want to do one of the 633 Squadron aircraft sometime!

Nice work so far VV. And it makes a change to see you do a Biggles build too :ha:

Daz you're right, this definitely is a nice kit to build. In complete contrast to the Special Hobby Sikorsky S-43 I'm also working on :frown:

The dark green has gone on but the finish is terrible! I'm usually able to achieve a lot better with a brush. I'll attempt another coat and see if I can fix it.
