Re: A Starfire is reborn
Painting done bar a couple of small fiddly bits and then the scary task of applying the decals. I just hope they've stood the test of time as I can't find any am stuff for this particular version of the F94

Looking really good, got to love the subtle colour schemes of those early US jets

Curses. Old decal has not reacted well with Microsol
I've got some Microscale decal restorer so I'll give that a go. If that fails I'll do a whif. Shame as it's such a nice kit

It's going to be a whif. Decals just fell apart and those that didn't curled up like three day old BR sandwich.

The whif has begun
I've found some Shooting Star decals with a bit of Skyraider thrown in.

Re: A Starfire is reborn
That is a pity, was it just a reaction to the sol or generally past their prime?

Past their prime. They started to crack on release from the paper before coming into contact with Microsol. That just heightened their demise.shangos70 wrote:That is a pity, was it just a reaction to the sol or generally past their prime?

Last of the markings go on. Next will be the plethora of stencils and then I can add the U/C and start to weather.

Maybe it could be in flight? I might have some going spare if you need them.
