Re: Kit's Vampire Slayer
What a great choice for the dogfight double! So original and not a conflict that would immediately spring to mind.
Looks like you've done a great job on both planes, well done

Re: Kit's Vampire Slayer
They both look very good. I like your panel line wash, what do you use?
One thing though, those roundals on the Vampire don't look Indian to me. It could be the lighting but they look more Italian.
They should be like this: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:IAF-roundel.svg
I might have some spares if you need them.

Re: Kit's Vampire Slayer
Thanks guys
OT:- I use Flory washes, http://www.florymodels.co.uk/washes/
As for the roundels, it's a bit confusing. As you say, if you search up IAF roundels you get the colours you showed, but if you search IAF aircraft they look a lot darker, almost Italian as you said

And that is a classic example of something well done as well!!
I really like the pairing, and the base is excellent as well! Great choice of subject excellently portrayed

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Thanks guys
OT:- it's an off-cut from a piece of background rock face that I use for my reptile tanks, just a lick of paint and some greenery added
Background
At 05:00, on the 1st of September 1965, Pakistan launched Operation Grand Slam, intending to take the Akhnoor Bridge and occupy Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian forces in the area were badly outnumbered, their AMX-13's facing six times their number of Pakistani M47 and M48 Pattons. The Indian forces immediately called for air support. At 17:19 hours (over 12 hours later?) 45 Sqn IAF launche 3 waves of 4 Vampires to attack the Pakistani troops and tanks. After they attacked, the Vampires were intercepted by two Pakistani Air Force F-86 Sabres. In the ensuing dogfight, the Sabres accounted for 4 Vampires, one from the first wave and three from the second wave. On the strength of this the Indian Air Force withdrew about 130 Vampires, and over 50 Ouragans, from frontline service
Disclaimer:- the markings are representative of the aircraft involved and do not depict the actual aircraft that took part
