Kit's Vampire Slayer **FINISHED**

To build a pairing of machines which would have had a dog-fight, which is the general term for fighter aeroplanes fighting each other. It does not include bomber interception, or missile attacks, but does include "dogfight" type combat of ships, AFV, Sci-Fi, etc.

yes, people often say I'm a bit nutty.
I wonder how the Xtrakit Vampire holds up against the old Heller kit.

Have to say I like this F-86, pretty much falls together

Image

Not much filler
Image

Bit of filler required at the lower wing/fuselage join. Main gear doors are a nice snug fit but the nose doors are a bit small. Quick swipe of filler sorts that
Image

Nice interior in the Vampire although the tolerances are a bit tight. Everything needs a quick sanding to get the fuselage halves to fit
Image
Image

Fuselage halves together and nose on, fit's not too bad. Wings and booms dry fitted. Next step fitting the gear in the raised position. Meant to be built lowered so really not a good fit when trying to raise it.

Nice work on the 'pits, the pilots especially look nicely animated. Will the Sabre be on the Vampires rear left quarter? the vamps pilot looks like he's glancing back.

This looks promising :-D
Possibly one of the more unfair dogfights portrayed in this GB
Best wishes

Thanks guys.

PT:- was just fortunate that a stock pilot from the spares has a slight head tilt

iggie:- Very unfair, this dogfight led to the withdrawal of 130 Vampires (and over 50 Ouragans) from frontline IAF service
