PT's Fjord Escort **FINISHED**

To build a pairing of machines which would have had a dog-fight, which is the general term for fighter aeroplanes fighting each other. It does not include bomber interception, or missile attacks, but does include "dogfight" type combat of ships, AFV, Sci-Fi, etc.

Mustang interior, not very visible with the pilot in and canopy on so I just painted a representation of detail on the sides.

Oh dear, bother and blinking flip!* Tried to put the decals on the 190 and it is not going well. I had decided that the slight yellowing was not that bad and could in fact just look like wathering, but the upper wing crosses are disintegrating. The starboard wing one broke into 4 pieces, the port one into 7!!
I had been hoping to cut up the a/c number 4 to make a 7 or 1, but that's not looking like a prospect.

Is it worth trying a coat of varnish on them before soaking them off?
Best wishes

I managed to get the wing crosses to sit eventually, but with a bit of silvering. I'll just paint over that with a fine. brush. Still need to find a pair of blue number 5's though.

Progress......

Photos of actual kit props on left, and the photo-edited (Finger smudge tool) versions on left.

The props, once copied onto thin clear (stationery type) acetate and cut to shape with a circle cutter.

I would welcome all comments on how the prop effect looks.

The props look really good PT!

Are they both carrying the prototypes for the 'bucket of sunshine' nuclear bombs? :-D :ha:

Upon further research, it turns out that I need WHITE 5's as the 190 I'm doing is from 9/JG5 and not 12/JG5 as I first thought. That should be easier to get or bodge together than the blue that I first thought.
RE the prop blur, I should have mentioned that the props are more visible than ones at a high power setting, as the dogfight will represent a 190 that has had an engine cut-out and is just recovering, and a 'stang that has throttled back to latch onto the 190s tail. (based on an actual combat)
