PT aims for the heart**FINISHED**
Just a place holder for now, but seeing as this is a six week GB and my other two projects require the ordering of some items, I thought I'd go for a hat trick with something that I already have pretty much what I need for

Re: PT aims for the heart
Camera batteries were low so the 'Box shot' photo didn't turn out The basis of my protagonists is (are?) the Airfix 54mm 95th Rifleman and French Grenadier of the Imperial Guard. I started with the Grenadier, cutting off the coat tails, sanding off the coat buttons and lapels, making the boot heels deeper and tapered at the back, boot toes made more pointed. I'll try to get another photo of this stage before continuing.

Hmmmm. Having cut off the coat tails, I find that the top of the legs at the back are made to fit the thick coat tails so I'm going to have to bulk them out with a blob of filler. Strange to be doing something, hoping all the while that I will make an ar5e of it!

Sounds like ladies styling to the Frenchies boots, and with him wearing gaiters; long knee length boots on a female?
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

The Grenadier gets more flarey trousers built up with filler ( I've had so much practice recently that I got the shape off pat first time....no sanding required! ) also the first of the paint goes on....
a bit more detailing, highlights for the hair and a pattern on the shirt

Anyone else get the feeling that Fred has gone off into a happy reverie here?fredk wrote:Sounds like ladies styling to the Frenchies boots, and with him wearing gaiters; long knee length boots on a female?
Interesting deduction, but as I usually slap on filler to make flared trouser legs for rock figures, I omitted that detail so as not to lead folks up the wrong path. At the risk of setting you off again, which knee-length booted female were you thinking of?

Re: PT aims for the heart
I wasn't thinking of any particular female. I was just in boot/shoe deduction mode as I have a medieval [rep] pair in for repairs and they're on me mind.Purplethistle wrote:Anyone else get the feeling that Fred has gone off into a happy reverie here?fredk wrote:Sounds like ladies styling to the Frenchies boots, and with him wearing gaiters; long knee length boots on a female?
