I will start with a pair of the last service Chipmunks, WK608 of the RNHAF and WD325 of the AACHF.
Here are the kits ready for Thursday.

Work has intruded a lot lately and has slowed things down somewhat, also there hasn't been time to post anything of what I have done, the build started by lining the cockpit area with embossed foil to represent the fuselage structure, the bucket seats have been made from resin using a master pressed into plasticene to make the moulds. this shot shows the fuselage halves and the seat pattern along with the first two seats finished and the second pair as they look when poured into the moulds.
Image

The foil has been painted in enamel to provide a key for the final acrylic finish, the instrument panels have been cut from plastic card, this picture shows one fuselage ready to be painted with the fuselage above that being glued up and taped to dry.
Image

The wings were also assembled with one wing as per kit and the other unit with separate flaps to be fixed in the down position.
Image

Here are the same wings after the leading edge rivets have been removed and the metal skinned areas have been built up with Revell Aqua acrylic paint.

Nice work David, especially the interior. I've posted a few of reference pics on my Chipmunk build thread if they are any use.

All the best.

The next step was to cut away the engine cowlings and blank off both fuselages at the firewall.
Image

The engines were then cleaned up and re-detailed.
Image

The engines were then attached to the fuselages.
Image

Time to begin assembly, the wings were attached to the airframe destined to be the Army aircraft.
Image
When the glue had dried I then fitted the tailplanes and anti-spin strakes.
Image

The wings were then fitted to the Royal Navy machine.

The tailplanes, flaps and anti-spin strakes were fitted to the navy machine and then both models were fitted with undercarriage,
wing root spoiler strips and antenaes, both models are now ready for paint.

Both models in the light grey base coat.

The next step is to finish each model separately starting with WD325 of the Army Air Corps Historic Flight.
The white was applied next giving it a decidedly scruffy appearance.
Image

Once the red had been applied followed by the black anti-dazzle panel it began to look the part.
Image

Now the decals were applied, the stencils etc,. were from the kit, the serials and titles came from my inkjet printer and the roundels came from the ever useful Xtradecal sheet X72041, next the airframe was given one thin coat of gloss varnish..
Image

The canopy, wheels and propeller were then applied to complete the model within the original timeframe.

Moving on to the the Royal Navy Historic Aircraft Flight Chipmunk WK608, painting continued with the yellow undercoat for the flourescent orange.
Image
Next the flourescent orange was put down and the white rudder and black anti-glare panel were painted.
Image
The decals went on next and were taken from the same sources as those used for the army aircraft and then the airframe was given one thin coat of gloss varnish.
The canopy was separated from the windscreen and both were fitted and painted before midnight- and the model was then completed on Monday in the extension zone.
