That is looking really great John. Never seen one of those before so keep going as I'd love to see it complete.

Re: Fairey Battle Turret Trainer
A lot of end-of-year meetings and parties have gotten in the way, but are slowing now.
I am doing final paint touch-up prior to a gloss coat, then decals, then a flat coat.
Only parts to put on are the prop, wheels, and turret.
I will have to paint the canopy & turret framing.

Glossed. Decals on. All parts & pieces painted except the pitot I just knocked into neverland.
Flat coat tomorrow, then the tape comes off and the clear parts installed - and painted.

Wow John that's looking really good. Very nice to see something a bit out of the norm.
Stuart Templeton I may not be good but I'm slow...

Re: Fairey Battle Turret Trainer
Flat coat on.
Got too much near the tail and now have whitish areas - "fixed" by brushing thin coat over and will look again in morning.
Some decal silvering on serials despite gloss, softener, and flat - "fixed" by dry-brushing some color over the silvery edges.
Turret & canopy frames painted.
Tried to bend/break one gear leg doing the above fixes - "fixed".
Need to install turret, landing lights, run an aerial, a couple other things and it'll be close enough.
Almost there, I'd have a picture except it's been a fragmented day.

This has been an interesting one to follow. I hope your whitish matte coat clears up. Looking forward to the next pics.

Re: Fairey Battle Turret Trainer
And, finally ....
Paint patched, tailwheel broken off and repaired, turret in place, gun in place, aerial in place, landing lights, think that's about it.
Fairey Battle Turret Trainer, R7384/9, No 31 BGS, RCAF, June 1940.
Probably would have been a lot more fun and a lot less time if the build had not been almost halved by a holiday; I certainly didn't do as good a job as I expected to ....
Thanks for watching.

It's great John, and a really interesting and unusual subject as well
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

It looks good to me. A nice change to see one of these done in a different scheme & set up like this.
