In honor of all those ol' training aircraft - the home of many a foundering fledgling oblivious that while the IP was attempting to show a calm, reassuring demeanor, his hands, tightly clutched onto some aircraft part, were slowly tearing it to pieces .... Many of us have been there .... The GB runs 1 to 29 Nov, and your host is Old_Tonto.

This is a GB for training aircraft - any kit, any scale, any variant, any markings. Armament is permitted if it was part of the training role, but this is not a GB for all those old trainers fitted with guns and rockets found flying for one side or another or both in many small wars ....

This GB started from this thread, almost a year ago.

The GB runs from November 1st to 29th; your GBL is Old_Tonto who will fill in any other info.

I will be building one of three possibilities. I haven't decided yet.

There's a Matchbox Provost, a Huma Klem and a Hasegawa T-2.

I'm in with a Spitfire Tr.9 and Hispano HA-1112M4L Buchon. These aircraft were used in the making of Battle of Britain, both in their intended role as trainers for the pilots flying the film company's fleet of aircraft, and also as camera platforms during the various dogfight sequences.

I believe I will join in .... after some chin-stroking over my stash, I think the Airfix Battle as a 2-seat trainer is my offering. I have a resin nose correction, the Aviation USK canopies, and the August 1968 Airfix Magazine with a conversion article .... It should be very simple if I just stick to basics. I need to do a CBK.

Might be a few days before I start, but then I'll have to rush as I'm gone from about the 19th on ...

Then I found the Battle Warpaint 38 and Huntley's Aviation Guide. forgot I had them. That's when I found the Battle Turret Trainer and now I'm on a quest. I think the turret in the FROG Blenheim I is correct for the Battle Turret Trainer, but the shape looks perhaps a bit conical at first glance - I'll have to look at it closer.

This could be really different ...

Would a Heller Focke Wulf Fw-56 Stosser be allowed? I figure, I'll jump in with either the Fw-56 or the new Eduard Mig-15 UTI.
On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

I'll let OT confirm this, but I reckon the Stosser is fine, provided it's markings/scheme are for its Training role, rather than combat.

Not sure what the Heller decal options are?

The Stosser was never used as a fighter. Instead, it's primary role was that of an advanced trainer.
