Hispano Ha-1112-M4L **FINISHED**

In honor of all those ol' training aircraft - the home of many a foundering fledgling oblivious that while the IP was attempting to show a calm, reassuring demeanor, his hands, tightly clutched onto some aircraft part, were slowly tearing it to pieces .... Many of us have been there .... The GB runs 1 to 29 Nov, and your host is Old_Tonto.

OK, now that we have its Spitfire playmate out of the way, it's the turn of the Buchon....

Single-seater fuselage:

Chop, chop!

The cockpit opening enlarged:

Interior painted:

There are no instrument panels whatsoever, so I'm debating trying to make something in order to fill up the cockpit - even though it will be displayed with the canopy closed.

Had a bit of a break from it, and lost a bit of mojo, but I will get more done on it this week.

The story so far:
Image

Cockpit parts installed, instrument panels installed (they were actually attached to the sprue - I just didn't realise it!) and the fuselage halves joined. I need to square off the wingtips before fitting them to the fuselage. I also need to alter the end of the fuselage before trying to join the tail.

Getting there....

I've also assembled the prop, although it still needs a bit of fiddling to get it right.

I'll need to check my references to see if the Buchon trainer carried the full compliment of dummy guns or not.

Red 11, the markings she wore when owned by Wilson Edwards in Texas.

The kit actually doesn't come with the Spanish decals as an option!

And I think this is.... DONE!

The kit did not come with any of the dummy wing or fuselage guns, nor the dummy tailplane braces, so I haven't added any. With my limited plastic-fiddling skills, I'm not sure that's such a bad idea anyway!

So, there she is. Something of a rarity, and a great addition to my Battle of Britain movie collection.
