Focke Wulf 56 Stosser in 1/72 *****FINISHED****
As frequently happens, I often get a interest in a particular period for building and this summer was my recent tween wars series. I was also lucky to acquire a large number of kits from a gentleman getting out of the hobby and the Heller FW 56 Stosser was one of treasures and with this build, the time was right. I have currently finished my pre painting and am ready to start the build.
The Focke Wulf Stosser was evolved to meet a Reichsluftfahrtministerium specification for an advanced trainer powered by the Argus
As 10C engine. The aircraft had a substantial production run to equip the fighter and dive bombing schools of the Luftwaffe and formed the backbone of the fighter training organization for most of the war.

On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

I wish you the very best of luck with that particular kit. I recently attempted it and end up binning such was the nightmare of fixing the upper wing.
Enjoyment over accuracy. That's my motto

Nice choice . It is a funky looking little bus when done.
My experience with the wing struts and alignment was a bit of a debacle too, though I plowed through and managed to beat it into submission in the end. Because of the age of the plastic, one strut broke three times under the tension. I'd recommend a jig if you can arrange one. Best of luck with it!

Thanks for the support. Of course you are talking to the man who built the Roden He-111e and the final product turned out acceptably. I will not allow this kit to win where Roden failed.

Camouflage paint was finished yesterday wing and wheels being attached today. Now, on to a little touch-up and decals to finish the job. And they say it couldn't be done. :P

That's looking really good!
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Thanks. The solution to the wing problem was to glue the struts to the lower wing and then attach to the fuselage. There is not such thing as a unbuildable kit but always have fun.TobyC wrote:Marvellous. I take my hat off to you. You're obviously made of stronger stuff than me

Now, my second build comes to a close. It's been fun and now on to taking advantage of a week with no kids and build a kit or three.
