Shane's Sabre.

Post by shangos70 »

Hobby Boss Sabre in West German markings. I've built this kit before in the Blue Impulse ones.
I may paint the nose and tail fin yellow and trim the decals.

I've done the Blue Impulse one too. Nice little kit. My decals were prone to splitting, unfortunately.

Anyone know the correct cockpit colour for a Sabre? Black / grey or green? I've seen pics of all of them.

Looks like light grey for a Luftwaffe bird:

On my thread Greg has told me to make sure there's plenty of weight in the nose as this is a real tail-sitter.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Hi Fred, I built this one before and managed to keep it on its wheels. I think I used small wheel weights behind the cockpit after cutting off the long pegs.

A few update pics.
Just a bit of basic painting on sub assemblies. Added 10grm in wheel weights behind the seat. Snipped off all the large pins to fit them in.

Nothing much to report other than joining the 2 main halves and masking up the canopy. Hopefully I can get some primer on tomorrow evening.

Not much done, an hour or so over the weekend should see the nose ring on and painted yellow along with the tail leading edge.
