Rigging & aerials (representative) on yesterday; off for paint-touchup and then mounting in the base ... and hoping that I do not fat-finger something !

Re: Where Have All the Flowers Gone
And done !!!!!!
As I said when this GB was proposed (all credit to Sir T and Splash), this theme just popped into my mind. A suggestion then lead me to portray the last Flower, HMCS Sackville, which really brought it together - Thank You gnome..." for that.
The modifications to make a Canadian Flower were simple and I soon started leaving out detail anyway -- it's too small.
It took me a couple tries to make the base I wanted, using a couple of wartime photos, one even of Sackville in an earlier configuration. I think I covered that process up in the thread.
But, I think I just aged past tiny ships in tiny scale, this was a struggle for eyes and fingers.
Still I am very happy with it and I have really enjoyed not just your support but also being part of a GB with such creative energy.

Brilliant, John. I love all the detail work that you put into it even if it was a bit of a trial for you. Also as a Canadian who has seen HMCS Sackville many times, I have to thank you for honouring that brave (and little) ship and all the other Flowers.

That's the kind of modelling I want to do when I grow up. No only is the Flower a brilliant bit of work John, the sea base is superb. You've painted it very well indeed.
Very good work and a very interesting thread - Great stuff!

Simply Glorious John; full of atmosphere and it (to me anyhow) portrays the typically pugnacious and resilient spirit of the Flowers that pours out of books like the Cruel Sea...it is brilliant.
Best wishes

Stunning work on the ship and the base. I'm going to have to go buy a hat to take off to you!
