Where Have All the Flowers Gone *** Finished ***

Got some time today ...

Working photo-etch mostly from now on ...

Image

Here's the bridge supports, pom-pom, and the depth charge rails ... I carefully folded the DC p/e over the resin and test fit - it went great. Then I carefully pulled it off, put down some glue and promptly bent the raft on the top - and there's no fixing it now :frown:

Image

And here's a test fit onto the base. I'm about satisfied with the waves and probably just need a little drybrushing for tops and such ...

Image

I will confess that some of the smaller photoetch just isn't going to get used -- time and temperament are against me right now.

Lovely work, John. Those depth charge racks/cages on the stern look really good.

David

PS - nice to see a Shilling. I haven't seen one for years.

Brilliant work John, the PE on my recent 1/350 Flower was tough enough so yours must be a nightmare!

And as David says, nice to see a shilling again! I can remember one and a half of them got me a series one Airfix kit from our local paper shop.....!!
Best wishes

That looks great on the base, bad luck with the first bit of PE and good luck with the rest.

That's looking really good John - I really like how you've got it sitting in the water with the bow lifted out.

Getting there ... with the exception of 5 railings, I have put on all the parts I am going to ... Note I did not say all the parts provided, some were entirely too small to mess with, some escaped, etc .... The big things are there.

So, I have a bunch of detail and touch-up painting to do, the railings, and some representative riggings and aerials. The base needs some water detailing, then we mount it.

I don't want to jinx myself, but it seems I have plenty of time ....

The ocean base got a light drybrushing of white and is done.
The only parts left on the Flower are the railings and some rigging - that starts tomorrow.
The only painting left will be touchups from the railings/rigging.
He says hopefully ....

I hope the crappy picture isn't a portent, but we're almost there.

Railings are on, paint touched up, sitting on ocean ....

Thursday is out, so my Friday goal is a bit of rigging, and finish fitting it to the base Saturday ..
