Arc makes a mess.. now with The Fall... **FINISHED!!**

Any subject, any scale, just so long as it fits within the outer diameter of a CD (or DVD, or BlueRay). And some of those famous UAMF extra ninja brownie bonus points if you can match the CD/DVD with the subject of the build.
Runs 20 Dec to 31 Jan, and your host is jRatz.

That's a very cool paint scheme on that Nieuport. I've a plan for the prop that involves it being in ah...less than mint condition.

Nearly done with the painting.. weathering /decals to come.

Usually I don't even have to try to get my wings looking like this

From studying many photos of Bipes in Foliage, I've got two plans for the damaged wings: the starboard side will be more or less intact but collapsed downward. The port side is going to have a branch jammed into it and the upper wing torn away with struts and rigging everywhere. The prop will be... Elsewhere.

As you say, many times I am trying to fix these sort of construction flaws, not do them on purpose :)

Heh.. good call, Nigel.

OK, state of play this morning

Decals are the 12 from Eddie Rickenbacker's plane chopped up and reversed plus a l'il devil from a 1/48 Regia Cr.32. I know he's not a USAS badge, but the heck with it. It's a bit of colour.

Image

Aiming for a lot of nasty oil and smoke stains.. suggesting an engine blowout. Variety of Citadel washes/textures used here.

Image

Image

I've since dirtied the wings up a bit more..

Image

I took Iggie's sage advice and dipped the beech in diluted PVA. It's drying.

Image

I've put the tail flaps into a dropped position and started installing struts. Also need to start thinking about the base.

Fanks for looking.

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

This is shaping up nicely.
You mentioned the amount of photos that there are on t'internet of bipes in trees, are you thinking of adding a wee figure taking a photo?

Now there's an idea! I was originally just going to feature a pilot consoling himself the way pilots know best and possibly some children.. but I may pinch that, depending on the bodies I have available.

The plane is, essentially, done until it gets fixed in situ. Therefore, I turn my attention towards the diorama, and cue a slight misunderstanding with SWMBO:

"What are you going out for?"
"A couple of bags of grass, dear"..
