The Dark Side
Then the sand primer on top. I'm doing the sand/dark green camo version.
A few little imperfections can be seen with the light primer. A quick skim with some plastic putty should fix that.

Looking good Andrew, but there is no way that the cooling fan in the second picture is going to fit in the transmission compartment, and I think the SQMS has supplied the wrong projectiles!!

It's the new wind powered anti aircraft variant. Twin AMRAAMs...Molly-new wrote:Looking good Andrew, but there is no way that the cooling fan in the second picture is going to fit in the transmission compartment, and I think the SQMS has supplied the wrong projectiles!!

Silly putty masking took about 5 minutes to apply. Most of that was looking up a picture on the Internet
Then Vallejo Air Dark Olive sprayed on liberally!
I still have to paint the hatches.

That pile of painted silly putty made me think you'd gone and melted the kit

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Thanks Splash. Here it is after a few paint bits were retouched. The optics have been painted dark grey and I made a partly successful stab at the tyres on the road wheels. The dark green ones look fine, the sand ones, not so good.splash wrote:That's hard to believe it the Airfix kit, it looks brilliant

I put the tracks and hatches away in a "safe place" over Christmas. When I find them again I can get on with that!dwomby wrote:This is looking terrific. Can't wait to see it with the tracks on!

Meanwhile, some cosmetic painting of the sand colour. The wheels are better now.
A papier-maché tarp installed on the rear stowage pannier too.

Now for the base. A couple of Scale Scenes paper textures for concrete and tarmac.
The tarmac texture is pasted over thin card, to cover the hole in the CD.
The blank areas will be filled in with scenic stuff, to represent plants or grass.

Nice. I like the roadway and footpath. Some interesting looking paper models at Scale Scenes.
