The Road to Dunkirk (B.E.F 1940) (Finished!!!)
Hi Gents,
I'm not sure how much time I'll have but I'm going to try something simple as I really like the idea of this GB.
Inspired by the great film Dunkirk, and my interest in early WWII History, I shall try a dio of the ill-fated BEF taking part in the Battle of France in 1940 and during the retreat to Dunkirk.
These are the kit's I'll be using.
Looking forward to it.
Cheers
Stuart

Re: The Road to Dunkirk (B.E.F 1940)
Thanks!
Today I made use of one of my last lunch time modelling sessions before Christmas to crack on with the Vickers light tank...
And progress so far...
I suspect it won't take long to nail this together. It's a nice little kit actually - nicely moulded, no flash, reasonable fit. It should make a good practice armour build for my challenger.
And I do like building armour - it's so nice to start cracking straight on with the build without the annoyance of the interior.
I've also started the base - I'm working on a bank with some trees that I want to display the Vickers behind.
Cheers

Fast progress there, Stuart. I couldn't help nodding in agreement about the 'nice not to have to do an interior' thought.

Yeah I can see me doing a lot more small scale armour builds - it's a really nice change of pace.
This'll be my first full armour build as well (I've only done a part finished Matilda before) so wish me luck.

Re: The Road to Dunkirk (B.E.F 1940)
Quick pic of the initial ground work - the green stuff is an old tube of squadron green I had...
And with my 1/76 Matilda for scale...
I'm going to build up the ridge with a bit more filler and maybe a stone and another tree.
Once that is done I'm going to cover the whole thing in Acrylic paste for texture etc. And then flock/paint the base.
Cheers

I like it, that all fits nicely.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Looking good Stuart, but how are you going to do John Mills and Robert Urquhart in 1/76
