The Road to Dunkirk (B.E.F 1940) (Finished!!!)

Any subject, any scale, just so long as it fits within the outer diameter of a CD (or DVD, or BlueRay). And some of those famous UAMF extra ninja brownie bonus points if you can match the CD/DVD with the subject of the build.
Runs 20 Dec to 31 Jan, and your host is jRatz.

Bummer! I saw the photo on the Small talk thread.
It's a pity that you've already done the base as a summer scene, as the winter of '39 -'40 was one of the coldest of the century, and although obviously frustrating, that effect does look incredibly like the pattern that you would see with rime frost.
Had it happened to me with that build, I would probably have gone on to do a Phoney War/ Blitzkrieg double header, contrasting the boredom and discomfort of being at readiness during the harsh winter and the chaos of the May 10 German attack.....but maybe I just think too much!

.....sudden thought! ...did Britain supply the Russians with Vickers'...?

Can't you make your Compact Diorama portray a French Bakery being bombed as the Vickers was going past? :ha: :-D
Best wishes

tough break, that was looking so good before you applied the clear matt.

What's next a re-spray?

Thanks Splash! Well actually it's good news (ish). I dunked it in some warm soapy water for a few minutes and attacked it with a stiff brush (well a washing up brush) - this has removed most of the surface matting agent.

I then hit it with a coat of gloss - thankfully it has almost restored it to it's original condition - certainly enough to continue!
