This is a Signature UAMF Event, usually run twice a year.
It runs from January 30th to February 28th; your GBL is jssel who will fill in any other info.
Usual rules:
-- Each participant is expected to complete a kit of their choice, to a standard of their choosing, in a 24-hour period, with periodic (hourly or so) photo updates. There is a 'senior' (or 'wuss') option that allows the 24-hours to be split into two roughly equal periods with not more than 12 hours, preferably less, between them. There are no exceptions, excuses, extensions.
-- Extra non-credit is given for the clock used, food and drink consumed, music and videos, and other events in/around the work area.
-- We usually run a Blitzbau in February and in August. They are a month-long to enable participants to schedule their 'blitz' (or blitzes) when most convenient.
-- A Blitzbau is all about participation and chatter from everyone, not just those who might be blitz-ing. It's fun .... try it out, just don't try too much the first time … But it is also fun to push your limits.
-- The key to a Blitzbau is Planning.
-- You can look at your model all you want to beforehand; the instructions, the parts, the painting & decaling.
-- Write down a simple plan, the kit instruction sequence may not be ideal for a Blitz format.
-- Ensure you have all the useable paint, the tools, the glues, the aftermarket you need -- before the clock starts.
-- The key is time management; everything counts. Don't forget that you have to make regular progress posts with pictures and interact with other folks blitzing at the same time.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
I'm planning on being along around 4th February. Still to choose a kit to ruin irretrievably - maybe an Airfix Gnat or Typhoon 1B.
Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?

If I can carve out a weekend, I'm in. It's the beginning of the teaching year though and things are apt to be manic, so I'll have to play it by ear.
Most likely victims are the Airfix Hurricane (NT) or a 1/24 LB "Mustang" Celica.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Hmm, got two Review kits coming in, the Moebius Ranger from Interstellar and the new Airfix Stuka. Wonder if I can get one of those done in a blitz?
Probably just go with one or both of the Zvezda AT gun kits I have (German 75mm and Russian 76.2mm) in their little dioramas.

Im in. Victim yet to be decided but I am fitting a loft ladder at the weekend so there's a good excuse for a rummage through the stash.
All the best.

Hmmm, thought I left a post .... Anyway, about 1/3 the month is shot but I'm going to try real hard to do the Mikr Mir 1/350 WW1 British K-class Submarine.

Settled on an Airfix Gnat T1. I never could resist day glo panels. Now all I need to do is order it, and then stalk the postie until it arrives. What could possibly go wrong.
