Looking great so far, in two minds now whether or not to get a Swift. Also looks like a very unfair dogfight ;-)

Yes, the Sopwith's having trouble manoeuvring, what with having a wing missing. Swift's a bit of a disappointment to be honest.

Just catching up with this Van, good progress so far.

That's an interesting dogfight double. Bi-plane versus a Swift, my money is on the bi-plane.

Should be unwrapped by 9.00 (and hopefully made good). Green seems a bit light, but an oil wash will cure that

Fear not. The Swift's guns will jam and the Tripe will sneak one in as the Swift pilot is trying, and repeatedly failing, to light the afterburner for a hasty retreat. Before ejecting in a panic as the guns finally fire and the nose pitches up violently. Score one manoeuvring kill for the Sopwith.

Looking good so far. Very good, in fact. Can't really pass judgement on the green from way over here but under that light it does look a touch pale. I swear by the Tamiya RAF colours. They really do look good. Maybe even that green isn't quite right for post war machines though. Tamiya's J.A green is a good match for those.

Well, that's it for today. For once, there were no spraying disasters, in fact, hardly any touching-up required (bizarrely, Gary Glitter came on as I typed this).

Thinking about Swifts:

Fifteenth of May. Cherry blossom. The swifts
Materialise at the tip of a long scream
Of needle. 'Look! They're back! Look!'

Bet some of you did that at school. Old English teachers never die, we just come to a full stop.

I won't be able to finish this tomorrow but I'll give notice of when it will be, next couple of days.

Last track, The Weekenders by the Hold Steady.

Some cunning and well thought out Blitz'ing! Making the camo masks while things dry is a great idea and you've made very impressive progress.

Flak, you're right, JN green might have been a better choice. I use that shade for FAA so I actually had some.

James, I wouldn't normally do that but I needed to speed the process up a bit! I usually have another kit on the go to fill in drying time, hence the Triplane.

Horrible, vile freezing day in Lincolnshire, so I'm cancelling my plans and I'll finish this off, I'm still 12 hours in credit after all. I'll start a t 3.00 this afternoon.

And could someone please tell me how you change the title of a thread? I'm very envious of all those people who put things like ***FINISHED** on theirs.

Awesome. I'll be at work and will nedd the entertainment!

Incidentally, did you get the rigging on the Tripehound to pass through the middle wing in one go or is it two separate steps? I couldn't get it dry-aligned well enough to try to drill through the middle wing.
Is this your sanderling?.

Just go to your first post on the thread, click 'Edit' and adjust the title.

Very nice Swift, btw

Arc, did it in one go, drilled through the wing, after it was glued in place. Guessed the location. Come to a standstill with it now as I don't have a comprehensive rigging diagram. Any ideas?

And thanks, PT.
