Marky's Blitz Spit. ***FINISHED***

Post by MarkyM607 »

Hi, after watching several Blitzbau's go by since joining (I think the first one I saw was XV), I decided to take the plunge!!!. . I have often in the past decided against doing things in case I failed and it has probably affected my life to date (also medical condition related), so I thought, darn it have a go, even if I fail I will have tried. Not life changing perhaps but it's a start. Here's my victim, I mean subject.

Started at 12 mid-day, as possibly visible above have got the propeller, seat and IP area done. Course I've spent the last forty minutes on here adding pics and having my Chicken and pasts dinner. Better get back to the grindstone!!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

A blitz is not a blitz without a Smer kit.

Do you have a postal address you would like the filler sent to?

Five o'clock (ish) update. Going well so far but trying not to tempt fate or anything else by getting cocky or 'this is easy'!!.

Apologies for the same pic twice. I'm fighting with my PC, laptop, camera SD card and discs as it's the only way that pics can be posted, although that's failing me. Usually I put the SD card into the card reader and put that into the USB slot on the PC. That won't go now. So I put the SD card into my laptop and put the pics into documents then onto a disc, that also struggles now. PictureImage keeps saying invalid file. Oh well....

P.S. going to have to take a break about seven ish as I have to go to my slimming club, I also work the sign in computer so I'm vital!!!  .

I wouldn't worry too much over duplicate pics. We had duplicate wings once. With Suez stripes. Two left wings. Classic.

It's all about mistakes and chaos and, generally, complete and utter dedication to disorder. With, perhaps, a model at the end of it. Which is by no means obligatory. I once blitzed without a model. It was a DNF. I accidentally started a model part way through, thus ruining the whole thing.

You're doing well. Keep at it. They come together surprisingly quickly, and usually when you least expect it.

Thanks Flak. Keeping going, crisps and peanut to refuel. Don't tell my slimming consultant, just back from there (actually about 9.45ish), didn't do well. Anyway, one more pic for the 22.50 update!. Not a lot of progress, but grey and green first coats are on..

Picture's poor but it's artificial light and I forgot to mess about with my camera at this late hour!!. Luckily being on holiday I don't have to get up at 5am!!.

That's starting to look pretty good. I've had my eye on this kit at work for the past few months (we have quite a few in stock). I think I'll get one now having seen your build.
Also please never be afraid of attempting something like a blitz, Someone once said to me ''Never be afraid of trying something stupid''. I once attempted to blitz an Airfix Sunderland! (a stupid move alright). Amazingly I succeeded and built in in 24 hours straight. A Blitz D.N.F is not a dishonour, It's a brave attempt, unfortunately the clock moved too fast  .

All the best.

Looking good, Mark. Share your frustration with trying to post images, though. It seems that you spend more time doing that than actually building a kit.

Yeah, that's true!. The annoying thing I can't work out is that the files all show on the disc on my laptop but not all of them show when I put the disc in the PC!?!?. Ummm?. For example there are now about eight pics on the disc I am using but it shows only two in the PC.....
Anyway, second coats of grey and green are now on. Wheels/UC legs together...

Image
This was, as the clock shows, an hour and a half ago. Worked something out by sending the pics from the disc to the Documents in the PC. Worked for this pic so fingers crossed. At least the paint should be nearly, if not fully, dry. :-|
