Thanks!. Yes, I have heard that. Can't think where!  . Only built half a dozen myself, slacking a bit!!. This model is also part of my 92 Squadron project, the aim being to model all of the squadron's aircraft. They started in 1917 on the Sopwith Pup and finished on the BAe Hawk. Luckily during WWII they flew several versions of the Spitfire. Oh well :ha:

Varnish on, watching it dry, watching paint dry is so yesterday!!. With all this picture palava with the computers I nearly forgot I supposed to be building a model!!. 12 hours building, 12 hours faffing about with computers!!!
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Okay, another update!!. Top and side decals are on... Underwing is varnished ready for two roundels. Not 100% sure if it would carry them but it is in the Grey/Green scheme around 1942 rather than the Green/Brown of 1940.

May have to put darker codes on but they're the only ones I have for now.

Decals are one of my fave parts of a build. They tend to cover my average paintwork
Looking on track for a finish.

Looking really good. I'm quite a fan of Smer kits, except for their insistence on moulding on the decal locations, but that's just the old Merits which I built as a kid when I could afford them. The Me 262 nightfighter in 1/72 is certainly worth its price, what with a PE sprue and - shock horror - a tail swastika!

Keep up the good work.

Thanks chaps, but don't tempt fate!!. Bits have started falling off now the end is close. Mainly the wingtips which are separate pieces!. But nearly there, an advantage of having done nights for five years, staying awake at night is fairly easy!!.

Time's a tickin' though so I'm off to the bench again. Aerial wire should be set by now!.

FINISHED!!!, I claim victory!!. . Actually it's it far from my best work but even further from my worst!. The canopy isn't the best fit and the markings had to be overpainted as they just got lost against the grey. The undercarriage could be better but it hasn't collapsed yet (fingers crossed). I present...
Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vc, RAF 92 Squadron, Temat, Libya 1942 (ish).

It is a bit untidy, perhaps a distance viewing would be best!  . Still, better next time.
Just realised I haven't put a clock in the last pics, I will go and do one now and post it later. Promise!.

Good work. Hey, I build in the stand off scale. My models look best from at least 5 feet away. :)

Thanks chaps, aside from the camera/PC/laptop saga I quite enjoyed this. Not really able to do it very often but will try another Blitz sometime. Thanks for looking in and for the nice comments.
