UH-60A Blackhawk***Finished***

Post by Molly-new »

My first build will be the Hobby Boss 1/72 UH-60A Blackhawk:

It appears to be a nicely detailed kit:

Instructions are of the A4 type (one page does all):

This will be built OOB using the supplied decals:

Cool. I've always liked the shape of those H-60 series helicopters.

Made a start on this by building up the seats which come in two parts;

and attaching them to the floorpan:

Splashed a bit of colour around the interior, I will be adding seatbelts from painted tape, followed by some sand coloured pastels to the seats and floor:

I have also done most of the construction of the fuselage. This is all going together quite nicely at the moment, with no fit issues.

Nice progress; I really ought to get one of these built one day!
Best wishes

Coming together nicely.

So US helos had that black chevron on the side but UK ones had white bands round the tail?

Erm...Yep, looks that way.

Although the interior is quite well detailed there is no IP decal supplied so I have created my own:

The seat belts are fitted and the whole thing has been weathered. (Pictures to follow)

Interesting to see this. I build the real 1:1 thing everyday and watch them fly. Amazing how far they've come from the A model to the current M model.

Oh crickey, no pressure then. :roll: ;-)

Trying to make it as realistic as possible (so as not to be ridiculed by coptermech) I have weathered the interior and added the IP:

Not 100% accurate but it will do for me, especially if I close up all the doors and mist up the windows. :-D

I see you have the same problem as me, those dam troops never wipe their feet before getting in. :-D

I like the seat belts, how did you do them?

I would never ridicule on the forum. Co-workers on the other hand are an entirely different story. :roll: :roll: :lol: :lol:

They are made form strips of painted tape. I then used a chopped down cocktail stick to add uni-formal dots to represent the buckles.

That's a relief. :lol:
The fuselage is now together, the next job is to do a small amount of tidying up on the seam lines;

then add all the little bits to it that I will probably knock off whilst painting. :roll:
