Good choice the Bucc's looked good in sand.

Any progress to report, David? Which nose art do you plan to use?

Re: Lancfan's Desert Buccaneer
I have not been able to give this build a blow by blow account so far so this is what has occured in the past week. The build began with the usual sprue wash, the sprues are shown after this and are ready to go.
The first step was to correct the air intakes of the Airfix kit which lose their shape on the inner faces and I have corrected this with filler before assembly.
The air intakes were then painted and the compressor faces, part 9 was painted and fitted to the lower fuselage, when this had dried five steel nuts were glued down behind part 9 as noseweight, part 10 was also fitted at this stage.
The undersized kit cockpit tub was removed from the upper fuselage half.
A new plastic card cockpit floor and divider was fitted to the lower half and the front seat was fitted.

Interesting alterations David, I'm doing mine OOB for expediency so will be watching your more detailed efforts keenly!
Best wishes

Are you absolutely sure you have enough noseweight in there? :-)

I was wondering that, but was too polite to ask.....dwomby wrote:Are you absolutely sure you have enough noseweight in there? :-)

Because the weight is behind the cockpit and therefore so much closer to the mainwheels it needed more weight to be sure of keeping the tail off the ground- better safe than sorry.dwomby wrote:Are you absolutely sure you have enough noseweight in there? :-)

Re: Lancfan's Desert Buccaneer
OK. I get it now - less effective the close it is to the pivot point. I knew high school physics would be useful one day! Any more progress?lancfan wrote:Because the weight is behind the cockpit and therefore so much closer to the mainwheels it needed more weight to be sure of keeping the tail off the ground- better safe than sorry.dwomby wrote:Are you absolutely sure you have enough noseweight in there? :-)
