Right, if I've sorted out the pic problem (see my Blitzbau!), here should be some pics of the Tornado and A-10....

Image
This is an okay shot of the proposed ordnance, gleaned from the Gulf War Debrief book I think by Aerospace Publishing. One AL/ANQ-119 ECM pod, six Mk.20 Rockeye cluster bombs, two mavericks (to come from the kit, not shown!, and some sidewinders (also annoyingly not shown!! ).

Bit more done on the two. The A-10 is going green!. It's easy being green, especially if you have a bloomin' great seven barreled cannon sticking out the front of your aircraft!!.

Image

Image
The Tornado's coming along too, it's going pink. Well sand. Bit of work to do tidying up the intakes. the main part is very thin on top and so hard to clean up. Best to sand a bit then assemble the intake. Once that's done you can tidy up!.

Whoops!, the screen on my little camera is small so pics often look okay on it but not this size.

Nice paintwork - what paints are you using? Do I see some Humbrol enamel tins there?

Yes nothing but Humbrol enamel tins!. And some Revell actually!! ;-) . The Tornado is Humbrol No.250, can't remember the exact name.
The A-10 is Humbrol 116, 117 and 27. Not sure if they are accurate but they look okay to me.

Time for another update, got sidetracked with my first ever Blitzbau. Here is the A-10, several coats went on the top colours, the grey has been changed for Humbrol 27 as it seems a better match, so now I can start on the underside.

This is the Tornado with a resin FLIR fairing from the Freightdog Models GR.4/4A set. The kit part was fine but the clear part that went on the front wasn't so I exchanged it for this part.

This is the pylon I mentioned earlier, the one I fixed but then it broke... This is back in place thanks to the suggestion by Dwomby.

Both coming along well Mark and I hope the pylon fix holds now.
Best wishes

Looking good, I have an Airfix A-10 to do for a future GB, I hope it comes out as nicely as yours has.

Thanks everyone, quite enjoying these. Although this is the Hasegawa A-10 from what I remember of building the Airfix version it was pretty good.
Iggie, it had better hold or this will be a model of the only three pyloned Tornado!!.

Okay, getting there. Detail painting, mainly weapons so far. A-10 is closer in this than the Tornado but it's inching closer.
Acces ladder to add to the A-10, plus canopy which is really clear and fits well.
Image

Image
Tornado top view, refuelling probe, Canopy and JP233's to add...
Image
Speaking of which.....
Image
The 233's are really nicely detailed and easy to prepare for fitting. They did need a coat of primer as the resin is very smooth and shiny. These 'bad boys' will go on the 'shoulder' pylons under the belly.
I really should get off here and go back to the bench or these will be DNF's!!!

Thanks Dwomby!, it's the standard pattern actually, or as close as I can replicate it!. Not sure the grey is dark enough as most pics I see of A-10's look almost one colour all over!.

FINISHED. Managed to get the Tornado done last night despite the other fuel tank pylon coming off and all four fins on it also breaking. The wing(s) are/is now set at this angle as the pylon could not be fixed in the time remaining and after several tries I had had enough of it!. The pylon is now glued on although the other three do move. Might come back to it later and re-do the fixed pylon. It's not like I'm going to play with it. Honest.

Oh yes, and the A-10 is done, got this finished earlier and slightly easier than the Tornado.

Bravo. Well done getting them both finished. Don't often see the Tornado modelled with the JP233s and the reverse thruster staining makes it look as mucky as the real thing. I love the sharknose and huge loadout on the A-10 too.
