Re: The Mighty Mo
Great to see a ship...and what a ship. Bet even at 1:700 this is a fair size.
Re: The Mighty Mo
I can just see the length says 386mm which is 38.6cm or 15 inches. Big enough but the sprues still look full on tiny bits!!.MDT wrote:Great to see a ship...and what a ship. Bet even at 1:700 this is a fair size.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Thought that this might help you with your references research, a young(er) Cher, wearing a piece of string, aboard the Missouri in the official vid for 'Turn back time' Don't know how useful it will be, but it certainly seems to get the seamen going!

Re: The Mighty Mo
Trumpeter seem to be very specific about who they want to paint the SH-60 in this kit
Don't know anyone by that name so will have to ignore the instructions and paint it myself, hope that's ok

Re: The Mighty Mo
It'll probably be that guy from 'Fifty shades of Gary'
....although 'Gary Friars Boaby' is definitely not to be confused with the Disney movie

Re: The Mighty Mo
Finally put some paint to plastic on this one. A few details to pick out on the decks then I can start construction proper

Re: The Mighty Mo
Here is a useless piece of information, the American Battle Ships were designed long and thin so they could fit through the Panama Cannel, the British and German ships had a broader beam to length ratio as they did not have the same constraints.
If you ever visit Wilmington in the USA I can recommend a visit to the USS North Carolina these ships are really, really, big.
Nice work on the paint job those crisp lines look excellent.
