This is the Tamiya (Italeri rebox) 1/72 Jaguar GR-1 which will be finished in Desert Storm colours if I can find the pot that I know I have somewhere.....

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

You'd better have some Kitkats to hand as well, There's nothing worse that having to get up and go for munchies and finding that there was a small part on your lap that is now in the belly of the Carpet Monster......errr! so I've been told! :oops:

Cheers all!

As predicted, the pot of Desert Strike pink (Xtracrylix) has gone AWOL, so I'm going to mix my own from the Tamiya instructions; this requires 1 part pink to 4 parts buff....first mix seemed a tad light and not pink enough so I've added a little more pink and will darken it up with a drop or two of dark brown...what could possibly go wrong!

Well, I'm pleasantly surprised.....the Tamiya DIY approach to Desert Pink actually seems to have worked; I put a small patch on the underside of the fuselage, and I have to say it looks pretty close!

Progress last night:
Basically assembled!

Amazing progress - how do you guys do it? I love the Jaguar, Iggie. (but I think the tail is too tall and needs slicing off with.............a laser!)

I kinda like that 'desert pink' on an aircraft. There's probably the odd Iraqi out there who dosen't like it, having seen it much closer in real life.

A bit of progress last night but not much to see;
Glossed all over, added tanks (in standard grey as stores were a bit behind the aircraft in getting into theatre and being painted 'pink'), added some gunmetal to fuselage protector plates behind tail-pipes and around gun-ports.....
Decals and weathering to go...
