Historical References

Honoring Edgar Brooks, a Spitfire researcher and contributor to many modelling forums, we have the Every Mark of Spitfire GB -- in which at least one of each will be built, not in a free-for-all, but to a "plan".
The GB runs from 27 Feb 2016 to 10 April and your host are Martin R and Sir T.

Here ask questions and post historical information and references about the subject of the GB.

I'll be disappointed if this thread doesn't go for pages.

Hi all,

A good friend of mine on another forum called Jon Bius has set a page on his personnel blog to bring together all of the advice/notes he had shared/discussed with Edgar over the years - this is a seriously good chunk of Edgars knowledge and I thought it would be useful to all you guys in this GB.

http://www.jonbius.com/edgar-brooks-spitfire-notes/;

Jon is a superb guy and an avid builder of Spitfires (100+ I think) who know's his stuff too and I feel sure he'd be happy for you to throw a question his way too. I also suggest you have a read through his blog and a look at his Spitfire builds too - they are first class.

And just to show I did get his permission - Here's the link to the Agape models forum thread.

http://agapemodels.com/forums/index.php?topic=19825.0;

And for more of his work (he doesn't always post completed builds on his blog?)

http://www.agapemodels.com/;

I hope that helps Gents. Actually UAMF and Agape have been the two forums where I've most felt accepted and at home - It's really nice to be able to tie the two together for once.

Cheers

Stuart
