PT's Down under dogs bag. - MkVIII **FINISHED**

Honoring Edgar Brooks, a Spitfire researcher and contributor to many modelling forums, we have the Every Mark of Spitfire GB -- in which at least one of each will be built, not in a free-for-all, but to a "plan".
The GB runs from 27 Feb 2016 to 10 April and your host are Martin R and Sir T.

PT's Down under dogs bag. - MkVIII **FINISHED**

ICM's 1/48 Spitfire VIII. The reason for the title should be revealed towards the end of the build :-D

Hey, PT.

How's the moulding? Any sink marks?

Not had that close a look at it yet Martin but first impressions are very favourable. It's 1/48 but detail wise looks like a 1/32 scaled down, full engine and mounts, detailed cockpit and gun bays....and all for under 9 quid! :-D

It's a nice kit. Engine can apparently be a bit fiddly, though.

My mate's Dad used to assemble Merlins at RR's at their Hillington factory, I was thinking of using the engine for a separate project at a less GB filled time. :-D

I've built a couple of ICM/Revell Spits before, and the engine is rather nice. I, however, am far too chicken to attempt it!

Clearer 'pit shot. The belts are masking tape with holes made with a drawing pin point dipped in silver paint before making the holes.

A real life project is going to back-burner this for a couple of days, a very short notice caricature portrait for someone at work who is leaving. ....but on the plus side, the cash will pay for the Seafire I have on order for this GB, the 1/16 Ernst Udet that I plan to convert to Eric Brown and some paints and filler :-D
