PT's Down under dogs bag. - MkVIII **FINISHED**

Honoring Edgar Brooks, a Spitfire researcher and contributor to many modelling forums, we have the Every Mark of Spitfire GB -- in which at least one of each will be built, not in a free-for-all, but to a "plan".
The GB runs from 27 Feb 2016 to 10 April and your host are Martin R and Sir T.

Apart from some slight flash this has been a really nice, well detailed (and cheap as chips) kit, but I seem to have found my first fit issue. Because I will have to hand paint the nose art and code letters, it would be preferable to spray the wings and fuselage separately, paint the art and codes, then put them together. There seems to be a fair sized gap along the wing roots and the leading edges on the top wing halves beside the nose appear to be about 2mm behind the section of lower wing leading edge that is part of the underside of the nose.
....and I've lost a bloody tailplane! ...after painting and lining it too! At least there are a pair of optional ones that look pretty much the same.

There! better out than internalised.

A children's book could be written on what goes missing in one's shoes. Glad you found it, anyway.

Too late! the Carpet Monster has already jinxed my decals!........strangely, only the ones on the starboard side :???:

The port ones behaved well enough. Dry fit of the wings after painting the Scotty dog with bagpipes nose art.

Elementary dear Watson, I deduce from the damage to the decals, the carpet monster is right handed, as it looks like it held it by the Port wing and licked off the starboard decals. This should make it easier to find the guilty culprit, as we can eliminate the left handed ones.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

When's Fathers Day? 'cause I really need a decent camera! 9 photos taken from different places (for light) and distances...and this is the best of the bunch!

here's the real kite -

I seem to have taken the anti glare black down a fraction too low at the front. I'm going to try to rectify it by using strips of thin Superscale silver line decals.

Nice progress looking good I wouldn't sweat the Antiglare strip too much.

On photos.

The first images have a green cast to them which I suspect is a white balance issue the latest one is much improved but quite soft do not fully in focus.

I suspect that either the AF hasn't locked or perhaps you shot it hand held and the shutter speed was a bit low.

If you have the time and inclination I'd cast about in the web for a free download of an older version of Adobe Lightroom. This has some good PP functions so you can correct things like colour casts, crop images, remove dust spots adjust exposure etc. That will give you great images.

HTH
