Re: Gadfly's Vb and Seafire IIC
Hi,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm now moving onto the Tamiya Vb Trop and have been pondering a suitable scheme.
I ordered these from the big 'H'
I fancy doing a full span Spit and this Med scheme looks nice...
UF*P BR392..
However a quick check on the serial number and it is indeed a Vc. As are all the other Trop Decal options in the Tamiya Kit. I looked at Montex for some 1/48 Masks and their Vb trops are actually Vc's Does that matter for this GB and wold you have noticed if I hadn't told you?? Some folk get funny about that sort of stuff...
Let me know..
Cheers
GF

Re: Gadfly's Vb and Seafire IIC
Well Judging by the side view, although it's a C wing it's had two of the 4 cannon removed which wasn't that uncommon.
I don't know the exact differences between the B wing and the C wing on two cannons but I bet it's no too much to worry about (maybe a blister or two?) - anyway this is UAMF so crack on with the Vc markings I'd say.
Cheers

Hi Stuart,
On a B Wing the cannons were drum fed, On a c wing they were belt fed. So the cannon blisters are different. There were lots of other differences but that's the main one.
I'll crack on with a Vb/c

That Seafire is very tasty, superb weathering really brings it to life.

Thanks PT.
Quick update with some phone images.
Seat and harness done.
Eduard PE belts.
I did some work on the IP.
I used Mike Grant Instrument decals individually on each dial then once set added some X22 to the dial to represent glass. I think it looks ok...
Finally the fuselage is joined and the wings are done.
I drilled out some holes and added some fine brass tube to represent the MG barrels..
Cheers

That interior looks brilliant.
The seat belts, do they come with the kit?

A Quick update...
Main Paint on...
I mixed the Sky blue with a mix of Tamiya Sky, Light blue and white.. Let me know what you think.
Top colours are Vallejo Mid Stone lightened with White and Tamiya Dark Earth.. It needs to harden for a day or so then further work can commence..
Cheers
