Lancfan's Spitfire Vb Floatplane

Honoring Edgar Brooks, a Spitfire researcher and contributor to many modelling forums, we have the Every Mark of Spitfire GB -- in which at least one of each will be built, not in a free-for-all, but to a "plan".
The GB runs from 27 Feb 2016 to 10 April and your host are Martin R and Sir T.

The PM floats do need some work to look right, I started with the support legs which are too far back, these were cut off along with the surrounding top decking and a length of sprue was glued inside the resulting hole to support the legs in their new position, the offcuts were then glued in place to fill the gaps.

This shows one float with the pylon repositioned and the other float has been marked out for the same work.

The steps of the planing surfaces also need to be moved forward and be reshaped, this shows one float cut away and the other partly filled.

Very interesting float-works going on here, David. I suspect you're working off some 3-view plan to realize the PM offering was so far out. I'm really impressed with your work.

David have you ever tried building a kit straight out of the box? :-D

You ought to try it one day, I just did and found it quite fun.

David,

Do you need an extension?

I am very busy at work this week so an extension won't do it I am afraid and this model will be finished in Aviation Modelling in a little while.
