Ford GT40 Racing 59North
Ford GT40 Racing 59North
Creating the pit stop for a Fujimi 1/24th GT40. Still bagged in light blue's and browns along with some chrome and fine Cartograph decals.
Though patience wanes and sweat begins to bead, the car will not be rolled out until the starter pistol fires. Pictures will appear when the sun rises in two days time.

Re: Ford GT40 Racing 59North
Sweet. The car that rocked the world. When I was a child in the mid 70's I saw one of these monsters in Leeds. I couldn't believe it was from the same company that made my Dad's Cortina! Also it looked odd seeing a car that was smaller than me, I was only 9 at the time.
All the best.

I remember doing one of these (badly) as a kid, looking forward to seeing this one done.

It's still the 9th for a couple hrs here. I just photographed the kit tonight so I can begin cutting sprue first thing in the morning.
Goodnight.

The sprue shots, just for build-blog completeness:
Not the real car, but, kinda what it should look like:

The parts look nice and clean, is it a new kit?

The instructions mention a 2001 copyright. Not really new.Molly-new wrote:The parts look nice and clean, is it a new kit?

Allowing dry time for chassis and interior means I can get on with body parts.

Those pictures that you are putting up are extremely clear, I assume you are a bit of a photographer when not modelling?

Thanks for the compliment, Molly-new. But, I am no photographer.
Just have a couple sheets of card stock back-drop, two LED desk lamps, a cheap Canon Powershot, and a tripod. With that amateur setup, I can take a photo within a few minutes.

I agree, loverly clear photos.
Model coming on nicely too.
This was one car I too liked when it was out & about.
A businessman who lived near me had one as a weekend play car.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.
