OT is Hogtied *** DNF ***
I shall be attempting a Tamiya (Italeri) 1/72 A-10A. This will be an OOB build and I shall attempt to free hand spray paint the Europe One camouflage scheme.
Wish me luck.

Good Luck.
Having trawled around I have discovered that there are quite a few trial schemes for this, including a winter scheme and one covered in tan, green and brown 'splodges'.

I think the latter scheme was known as the JAWS scheme. Not much to do with a shark but there you go!.Molly-new wrote:Good Luck.

Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Re: OT is Hogtied
I think I will go with good old Europe 1 scheme as it's what I remember them wearing during my youth. Is it bad to miss the cold war?
By way of an intro to this kit here are some pics. I think this is an Italeri moulding reboxed by Tamiya but I could be wrong.
The box:

Sprue shots:
Nice selections of weapons:
I will get cracking on this build tonight. A quick dry-fit of the parts looks very nice indeed.

Dear Lord, I was really, really afraid that clicking on this link would lead me to some grainy photographs in a basement somewhere....
Turns out it's OT kicking out the jams. That's good.

Re: OT is Hogtied
I made a start on this one last night with the cockpit, seat and IP.
Not much to show for a couple of hours work but I had to do a lot of research, what with me being completely ignorant as to the Warthog's innards!
I intend to add a pilot figure too so it should look pretty busy in there. It will get a wash aswell then close up the fuselage. I've started work on the engines too.
More to follow.

Re: OT is Hogtied
Here you go - I'll take pity on you
Old_Tonto wrote:Got the cockpit tub installed and fuselage closed up. A pretty good fit overall although the seat looks a little too high to me.
And here it is with the pilot Bob testing out the fit.
I'm not sure Bob is sitting low enough in his seat. He may have to lose a some pounds off his backside.
A few of us could probably do with the same!
Next up the wings were attached.
There is a small gap at the wing join which is surprising as everywhere else on this build has been a good fit.
The engine pods are taking shape and again testing shows a good fit.
Next up attach the engines and tail unit. Get the nose on (including that big gun and asseble and attach the wing flaps.
More to follow.
