Beany's Beaufighter TF.X (Tamiya 1/48)

Post by beany »

In parallel with my Bronco build I'm going to pitch in with this one also as it is needed for the Coastal Command SIG display in November at Telford so this GB provided the incentive I need to get it done well in advance for that.

It will be an OOB build in wheels-up configuration in keeping with the display requirements, thus acetate prop-blurs will be required also.

The kit decals are nice but aren't correct for 404 Squadron which is a requirement for the display. I recently purchased some in 1/32 for my Revell/Lodela Beaufighter, but will have to buy some more in 1/48 for this kit.

This 1/48 Tamiya offering is one of my all time favorite model kits. It's about as close to shake n bake as I've ever seen and is far well enough detailed. I've built one and stashed two with considerable AM for when I'm old and bald. I still have hair, so they'll wait until I'm ready.

Hope you can get on with this one. It should prove a treat.
