Getting along now. For the first time ever I have struggled to get into building a Harrier  . Not sure why but we are getting along now. Thought I had put the wrong nose on (there are two, one for the 1980 version and one for the 1982 Falklands one), so painted the underside grey for the 80's one. Now it seems I have put the Falklands nose on!. Oh well, wrap around camo back on the menu!!.

If anyone needs gun pods I have a fair few, might be able to sort it out for you.

It does fit very well, the one piece upper wing slotted in with no filler in the edges at all!!!. So far no fit problems although you have to line up the IP properly as mine is somewhat out of place. Modeller Induced Fit Problem (MIFP).

Finally getting somewhere, the dastardly yellow Sea King has been hogging my mojo/attention!. Progress so far...

Not much else to report although weapons and wheels are ready, but will go on once painting and probably decalling is done!. Underside is painted green and grey to, forgot to put the gun pods on so had to paint around them until they dry!.

Thanks chaps, glad the bits arrived Mav. I should really get a name to put on these parcels if there are any more, Maverick 231 probably makes the postie look twice.
As for the GR.3.... really lacking Harrier mojo lately, considering the Harrier is on every list of favourite aircraft I've ever made it seems strange. Still, decals going on so hopefully.... :)

P.S. Pics hopefully tonight or tomorrow!. :-D

I've just left a post there (I think!!), if we have until the 1st May I think I may be able to get her done, I'm decaling now but I still have the weapons and U/C to paint and install.

Finally got around to some piccies and an update. The Harrier is close to finishing but still a little work to do.

Image
Just the underside decals to add, although I forgot the rule which is to leave the pylons off until the decals are on.... But I will get some more work done either tonight or tomorrow and hopefully avoid a DNF.

Very nice finish. I do like the open canopy. Something I've never really mastered but you've cracked it

Great work mate. The GR.3 looks much more menacing with that Dolphin nose and those markings. Much more 'war like'.

Thanks chaps!, I thought the open canopy would be something different. In all honesty I dropped in on short of the windscreen and it just looked right, so a little adjustment was made and it was worth keeping as it is. It's also different in that it slides back rather like WWII fighters, as opposed to opening sideways or upwards.
