I wouldn't go that far Toby but it's good enough for Government work.
I agree with Toby it's looking good.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

This one has been progressing slowly but surely.

Main under-carriage installed:

An excellent fit and the kit balance is spot on. :)

So on went the wing tip legs and I started the decals:

The decals seem a little thick and didn't want to settle down so I've coated them with Microl Sol. Will see how they look tonight.
Just realised that I still need to paint a couple of panels Olive Drab as per the instructions.
I'm also working on the stores and jet nozzles.

More to follow. :smilie_flagge3:

How did the decals react to the setting solution? I hope the bedded in ok!
Best wishes

They look much better now iggie but they will need another soaking as will the ones around the air intakes.

Nearly there now:

Just need to add the jet nozzles, U\C doors, stores etc.
I had planned to give it a wash to highlight the lovely panel lines but I must admit it looks very nice in this clean state. It will get a matt coat though.
Some enamel paint leaked through the masking tape onto the canopy. Whilst I have managed to remove most of it with some thinners and a cotton bud you can still make out where it was. Very annoying. :frown:

One gotcha that I will remember when I do the GR.3. Ignore the instructions and don't add the pylons until after painting and decaling. Otherwise you end up having to cut the decals to fit either side of the outer pylon. It will also be easier to paint & apply the pylon decals. WORTH REMEMBERING.

Should be done before the deadline. Wife permitting. :???:

All done:

A lovely kit and pretty much a hassle free build. The only issue I had was paint on the canopy - all my own fault!
More images in the gallery soon.

I really like that. The roundels are very vivid compared to those of a Shar and with the beautifully done camouflage you achieved a very striking build. Well done sir

Thanks guys and yes it's a top kit IMHO.

I lik ethose roundals to Toby. The red, whit & blue roundals really pop out along with the semi-gloss finish.
Having said that I really want to build a SHAR now! :???:
