Andrew's Firestreak Hunter *Finished*

A simple GB, convert one thing to another - any subject, any scale, any era, any method, but ending up with a different variant, than what the bits provide for in the box.
GB runs 16th April to 29th May and your host is Martin R.

Yup, that would be the polite version.

I have now plugged the short-shot bit with scrap plastic and resculpted the tank. Not quite up to Michaelangelo's work, but it's going to have to do.

I just need to psych myself up to do the undercarriage doors now. Then I can add the pylons.

Added the outer pylons and fuel tanks.

Image

FRADU Hunters were often photoed with odd coloured tanks. A shabby looking orange dayglo tank one on side and an EDSG/white tank on the the other side. So I've tried to reproduce that.

Image

The tank fins need adding, but need some more paint on them.

Nothing comes without confusion :-D

Undercarriage doors on. As expected, not an easy fit.

Image

Fortunately most of my (un)handiwork is invisible :-D

Image

I also added the fins to the grey and white fuel tank. The ones for the orange tank are not orange enough yet!

Image

Also fading into invisibility is the tailhook. The white paint on the Firestreak missiles is done, there are a few black bits and stripes to do.

I am very pleased with the overall look, but the kit fights you all the way!

That kit might have fought you all the way, but you have thrashed it into submission and produced and excellent looking model.

Luckily a couple of months ago, I bid on one of those kits on eBay and lost it within the last few seconds :-D
