This is a slightly different GB any subject -- air, land, sea -- convert kit, any scale, any variant, any markings using scratch-building, resin add on bits, vacform, conversion sets, white metal, cross-kitting, etc. to end up with a different variant than what the bits provide for in the box.
This GB started from a (9-page long) threads here.
This 6-week GB runs from 16th April to 29th May; your GBL is Martin R who will fill in any other info.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
I'm joining in as soon as my base kit arrives from Blighty. It's the Xtrakit Hawker Hunter T.7 in 1/72.
I will be using a Freightdog resin kit to turn it into the proposed P1130 all-weather fighter. The basic kit gets a revised cockpit for pilot and weapons/radar operator, a new radar filled nose and two Firestreak missiles.

I just spent an hour gathering together most of the spare bits I need.
I hope to get a thread started later.

I'm using an Airfix PR.9 Canberra and an Alleycat SC.9 set. It will be therefore a Shorts SC.9, basically a Canberra with a new nose (quite popular in the Canberra's life apparently!). Pics later.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

On top of the Airfix Buccaneer S.2B into an S.1 that I had already planned I am going to attempt turning an Italeri/ESCI Harrier GR.3 into a T.4N.

Re: Sign-up and Chat
I have an idea but I'm not sure if it will qualify here so please advise. I want to take the Airfix Battle of Britain class steam loco and use the body and tender to replace those of my very 50 year old play worn and cracked Tri-ang-Hornby model. Some scratch building and fitting will be required to make the Airfix body fit the T/H working chassis, and I will have to source suitable decals for the loco lining etc., so not so much a like for like conversion but a body replacement and turning it from static display item to a running (and smoking - the Tri-ang unit has a smoke generator, which means I may have to insulate the thinner soft Airfix plastic compared with the hard, denser Tri-ang plastic) model.
I'll be doing this any way but need to know if I can include it in the group build.
Cheers
Al.
